Banyan Technology, a freight management software company in Elyria, has named to its board of directors a logistics industry veteran who has executive experience at two public companies in Northeast Ohio.

New to the Banyan board is R. Louis Schneeberger, the company said in a news release. Prior to joining Banyan, Schneeberger served as president and CEO of Panther Premium Logistics, a large transportation provider with a national platform in premium freight logistics and international freight forwarding. He was in those roles with Panther from 2010 until this month.

Prior to working at Panther, Schneeberger spent 15 years as chief financial officer with public companies Olympic Steel Inc. and the former OM Group Inc., which now is known as Vectra and is based in St. Louis.
