These Are The Cincinnati Startups To Watch In 2017
Cincinnati’s tech scene keeps growing every year, and 2017 should be big for a number of local startups.
Here are some local startups the Courier thinks you should keep your eye on in 2017:
FamilyTech: Formerly known as ChoreMonster, FamilyTech rebranded and took a big step in branching out to address pain points of raising offspring of all ages, not just young children, as ChoreMonster did (and continues to do) in 2016. It also has a pedigree, having gone through the Brandery and Disney accelerators and partnering with the House of Mouse.
Lisnr: Lisnr is truly doing something new in its space. What started out as an app to unlock special content from music has grown into a method of transferring data using sounds inaudible to the human ear. That has an incredible amount of applications from mobile payments to event ticketing to instant replay, obtaining directions or providing special content at live events. And it’s only growing, starting off 2017 as a top product honoree at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Everything but the House: EBTH is shaping up to be a juggernaut. The company raised a $41.5 million Series C round in October, bringing it to a total of $84.5 million raised to date. It’s growing at a rate of one new Metropolitan Statistical Area per month and is active in at least 27 cities.
MedaCheck: MedaCheck originated as a tablet designed to help seniors remember to take their medication. That alone is a $300 billion problem, but after a successful pilot with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the startup found that its platform worked well for adolescents as well. The company is now exploring new markets and promises big news in 2017.
