OROS Apparel
Oros Apparel is a material science and e-commerce apparel company that uses a form of aerogel, the material NASA used to insulate space shuttles and Mars rovers, to design apparel made to withstand freezing temperatures without the bulk. Founded during their time at Miami University and a graduate of the Brandery accelerator in Cincinnati, Oros was launched in 2015 with a Kickstarter campaign.
Wisr
Wisr is higher education’s leading knowledge sharing platform. Wisr partners with select universities, offering an alumni career network, student advising platform, and dedicated marketing team rolled into one online community. Wisr is an integrated software that builds stronger, more robust alumni networks for universities using AI to match students with alumni.
Genetesis
Genetesis is a clinical-stage medical device company developing a biomagnetic imaging tool to streamline the global challenge of chest pain triage in the emergency room. Genetesis builds devices which utilize advanced software and artificial intelligence that images and analyzes cardiac magnetic fields to determine the presence and location of heart disease. The device works quickly, noninvasively and without any radiation, and may ultimately provide a rapid and accurate standard for chest pain triage.

ActionStreamer is a 1st-person point-of-view (POV) video streaming solution with a mission of bringing sports fans closer to the action than ever before. Our proprietary, patented system facilitates premium content and an unprecedented fan engagement model that’s revolutionizing sports broadcast & coverage.
Healthy Roster
Healthy Roster is the only injury documentation tool that connects student athletes, parents, and coaches with a Certified Athletic Trainer via a telemedicine video application for triage and on through recovery.

Beam Dental is a dental benefits company that offers employers a fundamentally unique approach to dental coverage by incorporating dental hygiene behavior into policy pricing while delivering world class support and service.
Prevedere
Prevedere delivers business forecasting accuracy by combining millions of real-time economic, consumer behavior and unique industry-specific leading drivers with machine learning to deliver continuous monitoring and self-correcting forecast models.
Milo Biotechnology
Milo Biotechnology is developing novel therapies based on follistatin, a protein that increases muscle mass and strength. Milo is targeting rare neuromuscular diseases, initiating a Phase I/II clinical trial in Becker muscular dystrophy and inclusion body myositis.
VentureMed Group
VentureMed Group designs, develops and markets innovative medical devices which enable interventionalists to more effectively treat peripheral artery diseases and improve the lives of their patients. The company’s flagship product, the FLEX Scoring Catheter, enables providers to reduce inventory costs while offering the interventionalist more treatment options from a single device. VMG was founded to commercialize innovations conceived by vascular surgeons at the Jobst Vascular Institute in Toledo, Ohio.

Enable Injections develops and manufactures devices that allow patient self-administration of high volume/viscosity drugs. The Enable Injector technology is a discrete body-worn device that provides a comfortable injection experience allowing the patient to continue with normal daily activities.

Agile Networks
Agile Networks is the premier provider that delivers innovative connectivity that empowers individuals to transform industries. Agile Networks’ hybrid fiber wireless network has been designed for performance that exceeds any industry requirement. With a backhaul network capable of 1 Gig speed in place, the network continues to grow and expand both deeper into existing markets and further to new markets.
Updox
Updox provides a web-based subscription service that allows physician practices and practitioners to securely document, share and save information. The Updox application enables practices to quickly transition to less paper, fewer keystrokes, and less time spent with phone, fax and e-mail communications. The system quickly allows practices to receive and review reports, file patient records, comment on documents and images, and send notes to labs, pharmacies and other physicians.

Located in Cleveland, OnShift is a workforce management software designed for skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities. Their suite of products for hiring, scheduling and workforce analysis drives quality care, lower costs and higher performance by empowering healthcare providers to staff more effectively

Catalyst of the Year
Charles Stack
Charles Stack is a successful serial entrepreneur, known for Parallax, Flashline, and Books.com – (the first online bookstore)- as well as his role at Ohio Venture Association. More recently, he co-founded Flashstarts, a Cleveland-based accelerator and venture fund focused on fostering innovative uses of software and technology. The rigorous accelerator program helps the each company to become more agile, provides them with an initial investment of $25,000 and offers a chance at follow-on funding. Charles is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and the Case Western Reserve University Law School.
Courtney Gras
Courtney is an engineer by training and an entrepreneur by nature. After leaving her job as a power systems engineer at NASA to work for her own startup company, Courtney uncovered a passion for encouraging entrepreneurship. Today, Courtney is a startup community leader, international speaker and consultant for innovative, growing organizations. Named to the Forbes 30 Under 30, Courtney is an advocate for women in STEM and entrepreneurship.
Bill Balderaz
Bill Balderaz is a multi-faceted entrepreneur, advisor, and investor, working in industries in their very earliest stages. Bill is currently the President and Founder at Futurety where he helps organizations innovate, disrupt industries, and develop new products and services. Previously, Bill was Founder and President of Fathom Healthcare and Webbed Marketing. Bill has spoken at more than 150 conferences from New York to California on topics related to public relations, sales, innovation, marketing, healthcare, search engine optimization, data mining, social media and more.
Branden Jones & Bruce Jones
Branden and Bruce Jones are successful entrepreneurs and twin brothers who are both co-founders of FLIQS, a streaming platform focused on the underserved African-American subscriber, as well as franchise owners of Coverall Health-Based Cleaning System. They also lead an initiative to bring about diversity and inclusion in the startup/tech space in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus, called BLK Hack.
Rob McDonald
Robert W. McDonald is a partner at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP focusing on corporate, securities, venture capital and sports law work. In addition, Rob is a co-founder of The Brandery, a top business accelerator, and co-manages Vine Street Ventures, a venture capital firm dedicated to investing in web and mobile technology companies. A frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and venture capital, Rob received his bachelor’s degree from Duke University, MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and his Juris Doctorate at Washington University School of Law.

Matt Scantland
Matt Scantland is the Co-Founder and CEO of CoverMyMeds, the nation’s largest electronic prior authorization platform. As CEO, Matt is responsible for overall leadership and growth. Prior to co-founding CoverMyMeds, Matt was co-Founder and president of a software development company in Columbus that served large health care companies. Matt is active in Columbus’ business and technology communities, and is a big supporter of the startup scene–especially as a sponsor of initiatives like Columbus Startup Weekend, GiveBackHack, Independents’ Day Festival and more.
Andy Nielsen
Andy Nielsen is President and CEO of EBTH. Since joining the company in 2012, Andy has led the company to more than 1,100% growth and been instrumental in raising $84.5 million in venture capital. Under his leadership, the company has expanded from 1 to 27 markets, hired 650+ employees and been named one of the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Fast 55 and one of Inc.’s 5000 Fastest Growing Private companies. In 2014, Ernst and Young named Andy an Entrepreneur of the Year. Prior to EBTH, Andy helped launch Riverstone Development Group, a multi-family development and construction company. Andy holds an MBA from Xavier University and a BA from Miami University.
Mark Woodka
Mark joined OnShift in July, 2008 as CEO. Mark brings to OnShift over 25 years of experience in enterprise software sales and marketing, having worked for startup organizations as well as Fortune 500 companies. Prior to OnShift, Mark was Vice President of sales for Flashline, which was acquired by BEA in 2006. Mark successfully developed and implemented Flashline’s global sales and channel strategy and later BEA’s aqualogic sales team. Mark’s track record creating and running successful business strategies also includes work with TMW Systems, where he built the sales team from the ground up leading to over 1500% increase in revenue, and PSI, a regional hardware and software VAR. Mark leverages his extensive background in technology-enabled process improvements speaking at industry conferences as well as authoring articles on long-term care trends and issues.
Rod Robinson
Rod Robinson is the founder and CEO of ConnXus, a supplier diversity software company that connects diverse suppliers to Fortune 2000 companies. In 2012, Rod was recognized by Ernst & Young as an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. Rod is an advisory board member of the Techstars Foundation, an organization focused on increasing diversity in tech entrepreneurship as well as a member of Miami University’s board of trustees.
Sam Gerace
Samuel Gerace is a five-time tech entrepreneur and currently serves as CEO of LaunchVector, an organization dedicated to creating companies and transforming the 21st century. Same was the founding CEO of LaunchVector™, Veritix®, Be Free® (Nasdaq:BFRE), PCXIS, and PCX Consulting Inc. Sam has raised over $2M in angel capital, $76M in venture capital/private equity, and over $200M in the public markets. In addition, Sam works to build the growth stage ecosystem in Northeast Ohio through entrepreneurial mentoring programs at Jumpstart, Inc., Flashstarts, and in the Entrepreneurial Studies program at Hawken School. Sam earned a B.A. from Harvard University, and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
