The National Institute of Health is one of the nation’s leading medical research agencies. The NIH is made up of 27 different Institutes and Centers, each with its own specific research agenda. The NIH has three submission windows throughout the year for SBIR / STTR.
The program will begin with SBIR/STTR basics including what the programs fund, differences between SBIR and STTR, benefits of SBIR/STTR over other funding sources, and eligibility requirements.
The morning program continues with a discussion of the NIH structure, solicitation types, selecting an Institute/Center, searching past awards and developing a preliminary project plan.
The afternoon will be spent delving into the phases of NIH funding, cycle dates, the peer review process and criteria, components of and writing the proposal and budget planning.
