Brian has extensive experience in planning and counseling consumer, business-to-business and industrial clients on a wide range of issues from brand positioning, corporate communications and special events to crisis communications and environmental affairs. He has developed and managed marketing communications programs for FORTUNE 500 companies and his strategic programs have helped companies turn their commodity products into preferred brands in aggressive markets. Highlights include helping to turn a perceived house paint brand into a highly recognized OEM and protective coatings brand, as well as earning two top-five campaigns of the year honors from PR Week for Duck brand.
Brian has helped clients achieve significant results in a wide range of markets—from retail and juvenile merchandising to business software and do-it-yourself products. He has also developed public relations programs to introduce new technology, expand product market categories, increase retail presence, drive store traffic and generate sales while helping clients successfully launch new products in China, Japan, Korea and several European countries.
Throughout his career, Brian has managed eight major consumer product recalls and several other crises, helping companies negate negative publicity without destroying their reputation. He also served as the spokesperson for two Superfund sites and prepared/ implemented a crisis communications program (including media training) for several businesses.
Brian holds his bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Ohio University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. He is the former president of the board of directors for the Worldcom Public Relations Group, Community Care Network and the Cleveland Christian Home.
