Half-day, capital-focused event featuring workshops, pitch competition and networking at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Aug. 17.

JumpStart and the Cleveland Browns will host the second annual Small Business Training Camp at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 17, 2023. This half-day, small business intensive will deliver critical information and resources to help business owners launch and scale their ventures.

“As part of the Cleveland Browns’ ongoing commitment to advancing social justice efforts in Northeast Ohio, we’re proud to partner with JumpStart for another Small Business Training Camp, which will provide valuable resources to small businesses with a focus on the critical area of capital,” said Haslam Sports Group Chief Communications Officer, Peter John-Baptiste. “Since joining forces with JumpStart two years ago, over 25 minority and black-owned businesses participating in their Impact Program have experienced significant employment and revenue growth. We are encouraged by the continued progress of the programming that will continue to help develop entrepreneurs and positively impact our community.”

Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2023 training camp will help small business owners gain critical momentum with new speakers and enriched content. This year’s Training Camp will focus on small business capital, one of the most pressing challenges for business owners across all industries.

“Small Business financing is one of the most common obstacles for our clients,” said JumpStart Chief Services Officer, Lorne Novick. “The Small Business Training Camp is an opportunity for local small businesses to learn more about how to prepare for and hopefully obtain small business capital.”

The event will feature engaging “pep talk” and workshop sessions, a 4-minute pitch competition and a networking mixer. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with lending and banking experts at a Banker Speed Dating session. Sessions will be presented by small business support experts, including LaRese Purnell of The Real Black Friday and others.

The Small Business Training Camp is presented as part of a series of events produced by JumpStart and the Cleveland Browns, connecting local entrepreneurs with tools and training to navigate challenges and grow their companies. This partnership leverages mission alignment between JumpStart and the Cleveland Browns to improve economic outcomes for Black and Latino/Hispanic Businesses.

The training camp will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday, August 17. There is no cost to attend. Small business owners and members of the public can learn more and register to attend here.
