JumpStart, a leading venture development organization supporting tech startups and small businesses, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Heflin as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With over 30 years of experience in strategic finance and operations, Heflin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Before joining JumpStart, Heflin served as the Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer/Deputy Director for Holden Forests & Gardens, where she played a pivotal role in transforming the organization’s financial management. Under her capable leadership, Holden Forests & Gardens thrived, even amidst the challenges posed an organizational integration and the COVID-19 pandemic. Heflin’s commitment to transparency, curiosity, and financial acumen has been instrumental in driving the organization’s success.

Heflin’s impressive career includes several leadership roles at Brandmuscle, a SaaS startup based in Cleveland, Ohio. Her extensive experience in accounting and finance spans startups to Fortune 100 companies, enabling her to bring a diverse perspective to her new position.

As a Certified Public Accountant, Heflin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University and an MBA from CWRU’s Weatherhead School of Management. In addition to her professional achievements, Heflin is deeply committed to community and sustainability. She serves as the Treasurer of the nonprofit organization Footpath Foundation, where she connects inner-city children to nature and promotes sustainable practices, a testament to her values and dedication.
