As JumpStart’s Chief Financial Officer, she works closely with the CEO to drive financial discipline and accountability across the organization.
Through her leadership, Kathy ensures the fiscal health and long-term impact of JumpStart and leads a high-performing finance team while strategically positioning JumpStart for sustainability and future growth.
Prior to joining JumpStart, Kathy was Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer/Deputy Director for Holden Forests & Gardens, where her capable leadership transformed the organization’s financial management, revitalized its physical assets, and brought its information technology practices up to date. She created a solid team and sound systems to ensure that HF&G could confidently move ahead as an organization. Through Kathy’s leadership, HF&G delivered the first balanced budgets as a combined organization beginning in FY20 in the middle of a pandemic – far ahead of the goals set in the strategic plan. Moreover, by implementing new systems, Kathy transformed HF&G’s culture around budget management, ensuring that staff owned, understood, and had the resources to manage their budgets. Kathy’s career includes several leadership roles at Brandmuscle, a SaaS startup company launched in Cleveland, OH.
Kathy is a Certified Public Account and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University and an MBA from CWRU’s Weatherhead School of Management. As Treasurer of the nonprofit organization Footpath Foundation, Heflin connects inner-city children to nature. Fostering sustainable practices is another facet of Kathy’s volunteer work.
