Cary Berman is a seasoned global CFO and executive leader with deep expertise in building financial systems, operational infrastructure, and data-driven strategies that support scale and long-term growth. He has spent over a decade working with startups and high-growth companies, creating finance departments from the ground up, driving fundraising readiness, and helping businesses secure capital and achieve sustainable success.

Prior to JumpStart, Cary served as CFO and COO for a leading fintech company, where he guided the organization through sustained growth—scaling operations by over 500%. In this role, he led financial transformation efforts, launched new business verticals, and built a fully remote global team across five countries. Additionally, Cary has worked extensively across Africa, supporting early-stage companies in raising capital and establishing strong financial and operational foundations. As Global CFO for a pan-African venture capital and SaaS group, Cary launched and led a 70-person consulting division that focused on helping early-stage companies enter the U.S. market and connect to resources across Africa. He provided strategic guidance on capital strategy, business model validation, and compliance infrastructure—empowering startups to scale with precision and purpose.

Cary holds his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Illinois and an MBA in Finance, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship from Indiana University.
