JumpStart Inc. is proud to announce the addition of four members to its board of directors: Terry Coyne, Marcia Moreno, Shelly Peet and Mark Samolczyk. The members will each serve three-year terms beginning in January 2026.

As members of the board, Coyne, Moreno, Peet and Samolczyk will actively contribute to JumpStart’s mission of driving economic vitality by empowering entrepreneurs with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Terry Coyne is Executive Vice Chairman in the Cleveland office of commercial real estate services firm, Newmark. He is an established commercial real estate broker specializing in large, complex, industrial and investment properties in northern Ohio. While he relies on the latest data, trends and forecasts to inform his work, his passion is people. Terry values his strong professional network and serves as a reliable resource to clients and peers. His commitment to the greater Cleveland area is evidenced in the variety of deals he has completed, as well as his civic engagement. Terry is applying his successful model based on expertise, partnership and persistence to grow into new markets in Columbus, Toledo and Dayton.

Born and raised in Chile, Marcia Moreno came to the U.S. for graduate studies and has since made Cleveland home. Her immigrant experience, learning what it feels like not to belong, drives her mission to build more inclusive workplaces for Latino professionals. She founded AmMore Consulting, to help organizations become Latino Ready and to empower Latino professionals through culturally grounded, bilingual career and leadership coaching. Her leadership has earned recognitions including the 2023 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan, YWCA Woman of Achievement and Girl Scouts Woman of Distinction awards. A Certified Diversity Executive and communications professional, Marcia is a trusted DEI thought leader and active community voice. In 2020, she launched 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know, now the region’s largest network of Latino professionals.

Now retired from her role as Executive Vice President of Nordson Corporation, Shelly Peet spent twenty years providing leadership to the organization’s global human resources and information systems functions. Her human resources efforts focused on talent development designed to provide Nordson with a long-term competitive advantage. Within information systems, she oversaw a team that proactively created business value as the company grew from $600M in revenue to over $2B. Peet was also responsible for Corporate Communications and the Nordson Corporation Foundation. Prior to her time at Nordson, she held a 13-year career in information systems and human resources at TRW Inc.

Returning to the JumpStart Board of Directors, the organization welcomes Mark Samolczyk back to serve another term. As president and CEO of Stark Community Foundation, Mark Samolczyk is responsible for leading a team that partners with donors, families, professional advisors and organizations to assist them with their charitable goals. Under his leadership, the role of the Foundation has grown from a grant maker to a community leader seeking long-term solutions to diverse community challenges. With nearly $435 million in assets, Stark Community Foundation and its family of donors respond to local needs and challenges through carefully designed funds and programs. Mark joined the Foundation in 2010, following a 30-year career at the Timken Company. While at Timken, his career encompassed a progression of management assignments in the United States, France, Mexico and Canada, culminating as senior vice president of corporate planning and development.

“We’re thrilled to add this incredible group to our board,” said JumpStart Interim CEO, Lorne Novick. “They’re true experts in their respective fields and are exceptionally passionate about supporting innovation and helping to create a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. I have no doubt that they’ll each be instrumental in driving our impact on economic and community development.”

JumpStart Board Chair, Cindy Torres Essell added: “Terry, Marcia, Shelly and Mark, bring a diverse wealth of knowledge and invaluable expertise to our Board. We’re honored to have them join us in strengthening Ohio’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

Terry Coyne, Marcia Moreno, Shelly Peet and Mark Samolczyk join a distinguished group of JumpStart board members whose leadership and expertise play a central role in the advancement of the organization’s mission. The Board of Directors serves as a body of advisors and ambassadors, helping to shape strategy, strengthen partnerships and champion JumpStart’s impact across the region.
